Certification of a signature
The public notary confirms that an instrument was signed by you, before them, proof that the signature on the document is yours.
By certifying a signature, the public notary confirms that an instrument was signed by you, before them. You attend in person, with an identity document, and sign the document in the presence of the notary, who identifies you and makes sure that you know its content.
When a signature can be certified
This procedure is possible only for instruments for which the law does not require the authenticated form as a condition of validity. Documents that must be concluded in authenticated form require authentication →, not a simple certification of the signature.
What to bring
Bring the copies of the document unsigned; the signature is put before the notary, on every copy.
Certification of a specimen signature
On request, the notary can also certify a specimen signature, if you attend in person and sign before them.
