UNNPR at the strategic meeting of the European notariat in Tbilisi – digitalisation, legal certainty and the future of real estate transactions
On 16–17 April 2026, two important events for the European notariat took place in Tbilisi, Georgia: the first meeting of the UINL European Affairs Commission for the 2026–2028 term and the first session of the European Affairs Commission Academy, entitled “Real Estate Transactions in Europe: Legal Certainty and Digital Transformation”.
The opening of the first session of the European Affairs Commission Academy on 16 April featured official addresses by Mr Giorgi Dgebuadze, Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia; Ms Ekaterine Nandoshvili, President of the Georgian Chamber of Notaries; Mr David Figueroa Marquez, President of UINL; and Ms Valentina Rubertelli, President of the UINL European Affairs Commission.
The discussions took place during two round tables entitled “The Added Value of Notarial Involvement in Real Estate” and “Digitalisation and Modernisation of Notarial Services for More Efficient Real Estate Transactions”.
On 17 April, the meeting of the UINL European Affairs Commission included the presentation of reports and work plans for the 2026–2028 term, with the participation and contributions of Mr David Figueroa Marquez; Mr Jens Borman, UINL Vice-President for Europe; and Mr Thierry Vachon, President of the UINL International Notarial Cooperation Commission.
The discussions focused on major current issues for the profession, including future protection mandates in Europe and digital inheritance, in the context of the challenges associated with the management and protection of digital data and assets.
