Information on national and international sanctions
In accordance with Article 5(1) of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 202/2008 on the implementation of international sanctions, as subsequently amended and supplemented, the Union submits for publication the acts establishing or amending international sanctions regimes, in order to fulfil the obligation to ensure publicity and, where applicable, to communicate them to the reporting entities.

We hereby inform you that on 22 July 2026, the United Nations Security Council Committee approved the listing of one entity subject to an asset freeze, a travel ban and other measures relating to attempts to illegally export petroleum, including crude oil and refined petroleum products, from Libya, under the international sanctions regime in view of the situation in Libya - Security Council Committee concerning Libya Adds One Vessel to Its Sanctions List.

We hereby inform you of the adoption on 23 July this year of the 21st package of EU restrictive measures against the Russian Federation.
It includes, among others, the following types of measures:
New individual listings: persons and entities operating in or supporting the Russian military-industrial sector, forming part of the shadow fleet ecosystem or of the Russian energy sector, forming part of sanctions circumvention networks, propagandists, persons involved in the indoctrination of Ukrainian children - more than 200 listings in total;
Energy sector: introduction of an exception to the ban on transferring LNG to third countries (for one year, renewable or removable by unanimity); freezing of the mechanism for the automatic adjustment of the oil price cap until 15 July 2027; listing of certain ports and airports in Russia and in third countries.
Shadow fleet: introduction of the obligation to notify the transfer of LNG-carrying oil tankers, as well as the listing of 41 additional vessels.
Banking sector: a ban on transactions with 33 Russian banks; sanctioning of 17 financial entities from third countries involved in circumventing sanctions by offering crypto services.
Trade sector: new import bans on certain products, including certain metals, ores and car parts; alignment of the trade restrictions applied to Belarus in order to prevent its use as a sanctions circumvention route.
A ban on issuing visas to former Russian combatants who took part in Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine in the Russian armed forces or in paramilitary groups affiliated with, associated with or controlled by the Russian government.
The Council of the European Union also supplemented package 21 with new measures against Belarus, in view of its involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine: the listing of four new legal persons; the extension of the lists of items which could contribute to strengthening military and technological capabilities or to developing its defence and security sector and the production of Belarus's military systems; new restrictions on imports of goods that allow the diversification of revenue sources; the extension of the ban on Belarusian nationals or natural persons residing in Belarus holding or controlling the management bodies of entities providing crypto-asset services.
