Information on national and international sanctions
In accordance with Article 5(1) of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 202/2008 on the implementation of international sanctions, as subsequently amended and supplemented, the Union submits for publication the acts establishing or amending international sanctions regimes, in order to fulfil the obligation to ensure publicity and, where applicable, to communicate them to the reporting entities.

We hereby draw your attention to the fact that on the 26th of this year, the following acts were published, amending the regime of restrictive measures in view of Iran's military support for Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and for armed groups and entities in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.
This amendment involves a revision of the listing criteria so as to allow the sanctioning of natural or legal persons, entities or bodies responsible for Iranian actions or policies that undermine freedom of navigation in the Middle East, or that support, implement or benefit from such actions or policies.
At the same time, the title of the regime is amended:- Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1157 of 22 May 2026 amending Decision (CFSP) 2023/1532 concerning restrictive measures in view of Iran's military support for Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and for armed groups and entities in the Middle East and the Red Sea region
