The Directory of Notaries of Europe is the directory through which the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) brings together, in a single place, the notaries of the European States with a Latin-type notariat. It is public and free of charge, and the data is supplied and kept up to date by the national notariats.
How to search
- by locality, to find the notaries of a town or an area;
- by the language the notary speaks, the most useful criterion for someone abroad;
- by the name of the notary, when it is already known.
The results carry the contact details of the notarial office, so that an appointment can be made directly.
Who it serves
The directory is useful to a Romanian citizen in another European State who needs a notarial document and would rather deal with a notary they can talk to in their own language, and equally to a foreign citizen looking for a notary in Romania. Notaries use it too, when they need to identify a colleague in another State for cooperation on a cross-border file.
Languages and funding
The interface is available in 23 languages, Romanian included. The project was funded by the Justice Programme of the European Union (2014-2020).
