The agenda of the meeting included Regulation (EU) No 650/2012 on succession, a key instrument for judicial cooperation in civil matters. Discussions focused on both the latest developments and possible directions for revision, in the context of the need to adapt to current European realities.
In this context, Mr Octavian Rogojanu presented the progress achieved by the European Network of Registers of Wills, highlighting its role in facilitating cross-border access to succession-related information and enhancing legal certainty.
The strategic priorities of ARERT presented during the meeting are:
-
Encouraging the use of the RERT platform by notaries, legal professionals and citizens;
-
Developing the network of interconnected registers for both wills and European Certificates of Succession (ECS) throughout the EU.
Through these initiatives, ARERT contributes to strengthening a more coherent, accessible and efficient European legal area for all citizens.
