European solidarity with the Romanian notariat following the cyberattack on ANCPI systems

Notarial services provided to the public were significantly affected by the cyberattack on the systems of the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration (ANCPI), a situation whose consequences were also closely monitored by the European organisation representing notariats.

This incident once again highlighted the extent to which many public and professional services now depend on the proper functioning, security and resilience of digital infrastructures. Digitalisation brings speed and efficiency, but it equally requires stable systems and mechanisms capable of ensuring the continuity of essential services for the public.

In a message addressed to the National Union of Notaries Public of Romania, the President of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) expressed his solidarity with and appreciation for Romanian notaries for the professionalism and resilience they demonstrated during this challenging period.

At the same time, the experience gained by the Romanian notariat in managing this crisis will be shared with other European notariats, with the CNUE recognising that important lessons can be drawn from the measures and solutions adopted in Romania.
